Saturday 12th May saw the official celebration of the reopening of Quainton's tennis courts, following a £80,000 refurbishment project. This was only made possible through local fund raising, significant grants from Wren, Aylesbury Vale District Council, Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust, Heart of Bucks and a loan from Bucks Tennis. The courts have been relaid with a striking blue synthetic grass playing surface and a green surround. New LED floodlights have been installed, along with two outdoor table tennis tables. Over 70 locals, members and guests attended the event, with plenty of tennis being played and fun games organised by the coaches - Paul Robertson and Flora King. The ribbon was cut by the club's two youngest members - Alex and Eric Croker and James Christopherson, the club Chairman. The rain held off until mid-afternoon, but this failed to dampen spirits, with some hardy souls who kept playing in the rain.
The club, situated to the West of Quainton behind the football ground, now looks fantastic and is open for new members of any age or ability who live in the Vale.
