WI DISCOVERY DAY


Last week the Bucks Federation of WI's held an Investigation and Discovery Day at The Gateway in Aylesbury. The day was full of inspiration with talks from Dr Mark Spencer, a forensic biologist, Professor Elizabeth Tunbridge, who is currently leading a research group in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Oxford, Louise Hall a commercial services manager for flood defence works and Naomi Climer, an engineer. ELISABETH FRINK EXHIBITION


Over 50 Patrons, Friends and other distinguished guests attended the official launch of the Elisabeth Frink Exhibition on Saturday, February 10th at Bucks County Museum. Lord Howe, Chairman of Patrons officially opened the exhibition saying “Bucks County Museum is ahead of the rest of the nation in celebrating the 25th anniversary since Frink’s death and the 40th anniversary of the Milton Keynes horse outside Lloyds Bank which inspired this exhibition this is a world class exhibition celebrating the work of one of the most iconic female artists of the 20th Century.”....

STEWKLEY PLAYERS TANGO OF TERROR


Stewkley Players look forward to presenting their 119th production Dick Barton: Episode III: The Tango of Terror at Stewkley Village Hall from Wednesday March 21 to Saturday March 24. Haddenham May Day Celebrations

MAY DAY CELEBRATED IN HADDENHAM


Haddenham's annual maypole event took place on Church End green on Saturday (5th May). Children gathered on the green at for the procession, led my Mick Whitney on his tractor and returning to the green for crowning of the May Queen and King. There was then children's maypole dancing. Haddenham Hoofers and Towersey Morris were in attendance to entertain with there unique and very English dancing....

Longwick-Garland Image

LONGWICK HOLDS TRADITIONAL GARLAND PARADE


Saturday (May 5th) saw the annual May Day garland parade and fete in Longwick. The parade passed through the village from the village green to The Old School house where the children of Longwick school took their flower garlands to show the residents and sing their traditional May Day Song. Afterwards they returned, led by Towersey Morris Men for the winners to be presented with their awards and dance around the maypole.
